Wireless Door Lock Control System Self-Diagnostic Mode

Self-diagnostic mode will not be accessed if procedure is not followed exactly.
Wireless door lock control system can perform limited diagnostics to help narrow the cause of a malfunction if no DTCs are stored in the body control ECU.
- To begin diagnostic mode, ensure key is not inserted in ignition switch, driver door is open and in UNLOCKED position and all other doors are closed. Insert key into ignition switch. Remove and insert key into ignition switch. Within 5 seconds of removing and inserting key into ignition switch, cycle ignition switch OFF-ON-OFF one time. Within 30 seconds of turning ignition switch to OFF position, cycle ignition switch OFF/ON 9 more times, ending with ignition switch in OFF position. Wireless door lock control system buzzer should sound to signify that diagnostic mode has been entered. See Fig 1.
- Depress and hold buttons on remote transmitter one at a time and note sound output from wireless door lock control system buzzer. If buzzer sounds as specified in STEPS 1-3 of Fig 2, remote transmitters, door control receiver and buzzer are okay at this time. If buzzer sounds as specified in STEP 4 of Fig 2, confirm remote transmitter is registered. See PROGRAMMING . If buzzer does respond or does not sound as specified, go to next step.
- If buzzer does not sound, check wireless door lock control system buzzer. See WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM BUZZER under COMPONENT TESTS. If buzzer is okay, check remote transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER under COMPONENT TESTS. If remote transmitter is okay, go to next step.
- If buzzer is operational and wireless door lock control system does not pass self-diagnostic test, diagnose by symptom. See SYSTEM TESTS .
- To exit diagnostic mode, turn ignition switch OFF/ON. Wireless door lock control system buzzer should sound to signify that diagnostic mode has been terminated.
