Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
In case of using the hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 1 and in case of not using the hand-held tester, start from step 3.
- READ VALUE OF OBD II SCAN TOOL OR TOYOTA HAND-HELD TESTER (ECT)
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Check the automatic transmission using DATA LIST.
- NG: GO TO ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION [ECT]
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- READ VALUE OF OBD II SCAN TOOL OR TOYOTA HAND-HELD TESTER (ODI)
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Check the cruise control ECU using DATA LIST.
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
- NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY (ECT, BODY GROUND)
- Connect the ECU connector.
- Perform the test drive after engine warms up.
- Check voltage between terminal ECT (C15-6) of ECU connector and body ground when OD switch is ON and OFF.
VOLTAGE CHECKOD Switch Position Voltage ON 8 - 14 V OFF Below 0.5 V - NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY (OD, BODY GROUND)
- Remove the ECU with the connector still connected.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Disconnect the ECU connector.
- Measure voltage between terminal OD of harness side connector of ECU and body ground.
Voltage: 10 - 14 V
- OK: CHECK AND REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
- NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN CRUISE CONTROL ECU AND ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED TRANSMISSION SOLENOID)
