  1. Check light bulb for room light. Room light is located on the headliner and may also be referred to as dome light or interior light. See Figure. If light bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is defective, replace light bulb and recheck room light operation.
  2. Remove room light from headliner. Disconnect electrical connector from room light. Using ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between body ground and terminal No. 1 with room light switch in ON position. See Fig 1. Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and 2 with room light switch in DOOR position. See Fig 1. If continuity exists as specified, reinstall electrical connector and room light. Go to next step. If continuity does not exist as specified, replace room light and recheck room light operation.
  3. Check wiring harness and electrical connectors for room light. See WIRING DIAGRAMS in ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article. Body Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is located at driver's side of instrument panel on the fuse/relay box. See Figure. Electrical connector B4 (25-pin) and electrical connector B5 (25-pin) are located at each side of body ECU and a 12-pin electrical connector at rear of body ECU. See Figure.
