Cruise Control Ecu Power Source Circuit
- Turn ignition off. Remove and check ECU-IG (5-amp) fuse from passenger compartment fuse/relay box, located behind left side of dash. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, check for short in circuit between fuse and related cruise control components. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Remove cruise control ECU with harness connector still attached. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, backprobe cruise control ECU harness connector terminals No. 4 (Yellow wire) and No. 9 (White/Black wire). If voltage reading is 10-14 volts, see SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS . If voltage reading is not 10-14 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Check resistance between chassis ground and cruise control ECU harness connector terminals No. 9 (White/Black wire) and No. 10 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than one ohm, go to next step. If resistance is not less than one ohm, repair or replace harness connector.
- Check harnesses and connectors between battery and cruise control ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary.
