Inspection Procedure

  1. Check security indicator light. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Remove heater control assembly (A/C SW). See REMOVAL .

    CHECK: 

    Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 of heater control connector.

    OK = Security indicator light comes on. 

    1. OK: Go to next step.
    2. NG: Replace heater control assembly.

  2. Check harness and connector between ECM and security indicator light, and security indicator light and body ground. 
    1. OK: Check and replace ECM.
      NOTE: When there is a malfunction that the engine immobilizer system cannot be set, proceed to the next numbered circuit inspection shown in PROBLEM SYMPTOMS .
    2. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
