Test No. 1: Power Source Circuit

  1. Remove and inspect CC ECU-IG fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and check system operation. If fuse blows again, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Cruise Control Electronic Control Unit (CC ECU) connector C19. See Figure. Install new fuse. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Recheck fuse. If fuse is okay, check CC ECU. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If found to be defective, replace CC ECU and retest system. If fuse is blown, locate and repair short in wiring harness between CC ECU-IG fuse and CC ECU connector C19.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect CC ECU connector C19. See Figure. Check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector C19 terminal No. 13 (White/Black wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair faulty ground, or locate and repair open in White/Black wire between ground and CC ECU connector C19.
  3. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and CC ECU connector C19 terminal No. 14 (Black/Orange wire). If battery voltage does not exist, locate and repair open in wiring harness between ground and CC ECU connector C19. If battery voltage exists, check CC ECU. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If found to be defective, replace CC ECU and retest system.
