Test 16: Cruise Indicator Light Circuit

Remove CC ECU with connector connected. See Figure. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using voltmeter positive lead, backprobe CC ECU connector C17 terminal No. 7/PI (Black/Yellow wire) with negative lead to ground. Ensure battery voltage exists with cruise control switch in OFF position, and less than 1.2 volts exist with cruise control switch in ON position. If voltage is as specified, go to test for next trouble code displayed or appropriate symptom under TROUBLE SHOOTING BY SYMPTOM  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If voltage is not as specified, check combination meter. See INSTRUMENT PANEL article. Repair or replace combination meter as necessary. If combination meter is okay, check CC ECU. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If found to be defective, replace CC ECU and retest system.
