EGR Gas Temperature Sensor Test

Remove sensor from side of EGR valve. Place threaded end of sensor and thermometer in container of oil. See Fig 1. Attach ohmmeter to sensor terminals. Heat the oil and note the resistance at specified temperature. See EGR TEMPERATURE SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS  table. Replace sensor if not within specification.
