CONDITION
On some Model S and X vehicles, vehicle software version 2021.36 and later versions up to 2023.44.30 inadvertently excluded the door latch lockout functionality, which does not comply with FMVSS No. 214, S9.2.3(b)(1).
CORRECTION
Inspect the vehicle software version, and if necessary, update the vehicle software to version 2023.44.30 or later.

PROCEDURE
On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls (vehicle icon) > Software , and then scroll down to display the vehicle software version.
- If the vehicle is operating with software version 2023.44.30 or later, no further action is necessary. Use correction code S012300009.
- If the vehicle is operating with a software version earlier than 2023.44.30, update the software to version 2023.44.30 or later (refer to Model S , Model X ). Use correction code S022300009.
