1st Generation: Removal

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2020 Tesla Model S, 2019 Tesla Model S, 2018 Tesla Model S, 2017 Tesla Model S, and 2016 Tesla Model S. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front fascia Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove And Install) .
  2. Remove the radar sensor gasket.
    NOTE: The flaps on each side of the radar sensor gasket are secured to the radar sensor with double-sided tape.

  3. Use a trim tool or flathead screwdriver to gently pry up the tab on the top of the inner bracket, and gently release the radar sensor from the bracket.
    CAUTION: The radar sensor is still connected by a harness. Do not attempt to remove the radar from the vehicle at this time.

  4. Disconnect the electrical harness on the bottom of the radar sensor.
    CAUTION: There is little slack in the electrical harness. Do not damage the connector.

  5. Remove the radar sensor.
