Adaptive Air Spring Module - Rear - LH - Remove And Replace: Installation

CAUTION: Replace all nylon-insert locknuts.

CAUTION: Replace all patchbolt(s).

NOTE: Clean the affected areas before installation.

CAUTION: Only fully tighten suspension nuts and bolts when the vehicle is on a 4-post lift and the suspension is in the ride height position.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Refill the air suspension system with Nitrogen. See AIR SUSPENSION - PRESSURIZE/DEPRESSURIZE - FULL SYSTEM .
NOTE: If the LH rear air spring module was replaced because of a leak, perform the additional steps to purge the accumulated moisture from the dryer.
Use Toolbox to pressurize the rear LH air spring module. See AIR SUSPENSION - PRESSURIZE/DEPRESSURIZE - ONE AIR SPRING .
After installation is complete, torque the suspension components on a 4-post lift while the vehicle is at ride height:
1. Put the vehicle on a 4-post lift.
2. Remove the screws (x3) (torque 6 N.m), the bolt (torque 4 N.m) and the nyloc nut (torque 35 N.m) that attach the LH shear plate to the vehicle.
3. Remove the screws (x3) (torque 6 N.m), the bolt (torque 4 N.m) and the nyloc nut (torque 35 N.m) that attach the RH shear plate to the vehicle.
4. Remove the mid aero shield panel. See PANEL - AERO SHIELD - MID (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
5. Torque the suspension components to the specified torque values.
  NOTE: Torque value for the bolt that attaches the LH rear upper link to knuckle: 140 N.m.
  
  NOTE: Torque value for the nut that attaches the LH rear air spring module to the knuckle: 140 N.m.
  
  NOTE: Torque value for the nut that attaches the LH rear toe link to the knuckle: 130 N.m.
  
  NOTE: Torque value for the nut that attaches the LH rear lower control arm to the subframe: 115 N.m.
6. Reinstall the mid aero shield panel. See PANEL - AERO SHIELD - MID (REMOVE AND REPLACE)
7. Install the screws (x3) (torque 6 N.m), the bolt (torque 4 N.m) and the new nyloc nut (torque 35 N.m) that attach the RH shear plate to the vehicle.
8. Install the screws (x3) (torque 6 N.m), the bolt (torque 4 N.m) and the new nyloc nut (torque 35 N.m) that attach the LH shear plate to the vehicle.
Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine if an alignment check (AC) or full adjustment (FA) is necessary. See ALIGNMENT REQUIREMENT - SUSPENSION .
