- Raise and support vehicleNOTE: Ensure vehicle is not charging before lifting it off the ground, Set air suspension to "Jack Mode" if equipped
- Open LH front door
- Lower LH front window
- Set steering wheel straight ahead
- Lock steering wheel into positionNOTE: Protect seat from damage
- Open hood
- Remove rear apronNOTE: 14x clips
- Remove access panelNOTE: 3x clips, 1x connector
- Remove fasteners securing the frunk assemblyNOTE: 5x bolts, 10 mm, 5 N.m, Newer vehicles may be equipped with 1x push clip securing frunk to reservoir neck
- Remove frunk assembly from vehicleNOTE: 6x clips, Replace any clips if broken or missing
- Remove bolt securing the steering gear assembly to intermediate shaft assemblyNOTE: 1x bolt, 13 mm, 18 N.m
- Slide the electric steering column upward to remove it from the steering gear assembly
- Power off vehicle from center displayNOTE: Via Controls > Safety & Security > Vehicle Power > Power Off
- Disconnect 12 V negative terminal and first responders loopNOTE: 1x nut, 10 mm, 6 N.m, 1x connector, Ensure vehicle is in park, climate control system is off, and vehicle is not charging before disconnecting 12 V, Negative terminal should be disconnected before FRL, Allow 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge
- Disconnect the steering gear assembly connectorsNOTE: 2x connectors, Two stage connectors, Slide red locking tab to unlock, then depress the connector release to disconnect
- Disconnect logic connectors from steering gear assemblyNOTE: 2x locking connectors, Do not push down on Red tab, Pull red tab to disengage lock, Pull again to release connector
- Remove LH front wheel capNOTE: 1x cap, Use both hands to gently pull the wheel cap to release the clips, Wheels may be equipped with center caps
- Remove RH front wheel capNOTE: 1x cap, Use both hands to gently pull the wheel cap to release the clips, Wheels may be equipped with center caps
- Loosen RH front wheelNOTE: 5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 N.m
- Loosen LH front wheelNOTE: 5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 N.m
- Raise vehicle partially and lower lift onto locksNOTE: Set vehicle to a comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side
- Remove LH front wheelNOTE: 5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 N.m
- Remove nut securing the LH tie rod end to the knuckleNOTE: 1x nyloc nut, 22 mm, 180 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove LH tie rod end from knuckle
- Remove RH front wheelNOTE: 5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 N.m
- Remove nut securing the RH tie rod end to the knuckleNOTE: 1x nyloc nut, 22 mm, 180 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove RH tie rod end from knuckle
- Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locksNOTE: Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side
- Remove outer fasteners from front aero shieldNOTE: 7x bolts, 10 mm, 5 N.m
- Remove remaining nuts and remove front aero shield from vehicleNOTE: 2x nuts, 15 mm, 5 N.m
- Remove clips that secure front valance to LH wheel linerNOTE: 3x clips
- Remove clips that secure front valance to RH wheel linerNOTE: 3x clips
- Remove nut securing RH corner of front valance to front fasciaNOTE: 1x nut, 10 mm, 3 N.m
- Remove clips securing RH corner of front valance to front fasciaNOTE: 2x clips
- Remove nut securing LH corner of front valance to front fasciaNOTE: 1x nut, 10 mm, 3 N.m
- Remove clips securing LH corner of front valance to front fasciaNOTE: 2x clips
- Remove clips securing front valance to front fascia and remove front valanceNOTE: 6x clips, Recommend assistance
- Remove FDU bypass hose clip from front subframeNOTE: 1x clip
- Remove clip securing front harness to front subframeNOTE: 1x clip
- Disconnect connectors from horn assemblyNOTE: 2x connectors
- Remove bolts securing front end carrier to LH front subframe crash can assemblyNOTE: 2x bolts, 13 mm, 16 N.m
- Remove bolts securing front end carrier to RH front subframe crash can assemblyNOTE: 2x bolts, 13 mm, 16 N.m
- Loosen the bolts securing front subframe to LH front subframe crash can assemblyNOTE: 2x bolts, 15 mm, 53 N.m, This will help when installing the subframe

- Remove nut securing front stabilizer bar link to LH front stabilizer barNOTE: 1x nyloc nut, 18 mm, 98 N.m, Counter hold ball joint with T40, Discard after removal
- Move LH front stabilizer bar link assembly asideNOTE: May need to move the stabilizer bar up/down to get the correct angle needed to remove end link
- Remove nut securing front stabilizer bar to RH front stabilizer bar link assemblyNOTE: 1x nyloc nut, 18 mm, 98 N.m, Counter hold ball joint with T40, Discard after removal
- Move RH front stabilizer bar link assembly asideNOTE: May be necessary to pull down on the sway bar to allow the end link to disengage
- Remove bolt and nut securing LH front lower compression link to front subframeNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 1x nut, 21 mm, 115 N.m
- Move the LH front lower compression link aside
- Remove bolts securing LH front lower lateral link to front subframeNOTE: 2x bolts, 21 mm, 115 N.m
- Remove bolt and nut securing LH strut to LH front lower lateral linkNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 1x nut, 21 mm, 106 N.m
- Remove bolt and nut securing RH front lower compression link to front subframeNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 1x nut, 21 mm, 115 N.m
- Move the RH front lower compression link aside
- Remove bolts securing RH front lower lateral link to front subframeNOTE: 2x bolts, 21 mm, 115 N.m
- Remove bolt and nut securing RH strut to lower control arm and move the RH front lower lateral link asideNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 1x nut, 21 mm, 106 N.m
- Move the subframe lifting tool underneath the front subframe area
- Connect air supply to subframe lifting tool
- Position and support the front subframe with subframe lifting toolNOTE: Recommend assistance, Latch the subframe to subframe lifting tool, Make sure to align the two guides
- Remove bolt securing LH mid mount to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 15 mm, 50 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove bolt securing RH mid mount to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 15 mm, 50 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove LH bolt securing the front portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 18 mm, 72 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove RH bolt securing the front portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 18 mm, 72 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove LH smaller bolt securing the rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 15 mm, 50 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove RH smaller bolt securing the rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 15 mm, 50 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove LH larger bolt securing the rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 125 N.m, Discard after removal
- Remove RH larger bolt securing the rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 125 N.m, Discard after removal
- Lower the subframe from vehicleNOTE: Recommend assistance
- Disconnect air supply from subframe lifting tool
- Remove subframe lifting tool from under vehicle
- Position lifting tool and subframe under vehicle for installation
- Connect air supply to subframe lifting tool
- Raise support tool until the front subframe and body meetNOTE: Recommend assistance, Guide the motor mount bushings into the motor mount isolators as the lift is being raised into position, Make sure to line up the rear locating pins on the subframe
- Loosely install the RH larger bolt securing rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 125 N.m, Install new bolt
- Loosely install the LH larger bolt securing rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 125 N.m, Install new bolt
- Loosely install the RH smaller bolt securing rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 15 mm, 50 N.m, Install new bolt
- Loosely install the LH smaller bolt securing rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 15 mm, 50 N.m, Install new bolt
- Loosely install RH bolt securing the front portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 18 mm, 72 N.m, Install new bolt, Adjust subframe lifting tool if necessary
- Loosely install LH bolt securing the front portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 18 mm, 72 N.m, Install new bolt, Adjust subframe lifting tool if necessary
- Loosely install bolt securing the RH mid mount to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 15 mm, 50 N.m, Install new bolt
- Loosely install bolt securing the LH mid mount to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 15 mm, 50 N.m, Install new bolt
- Loosely install the bolts securing front end carrier to RH front subframe crash can assemblyNOTE: 2x bolts, 13 mm, 16 N.m

- Torque the RH larger bolt securing the rear portion of the front subframe to bodyNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 125 N.m

- Install the RH front lower lateral link and loosely install bolt and nut securing RH strut to lower control armNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 1x nut, 21 mm, 106 N.m
- Loosely install bolts securing RH front lower lateral link to front subframeNOTE: 2x bolts, 21 mm, 115 N.m, Recommend assistance if necessary, Use punch tool to align the fasteners
- Install the RH front lower compression link to front subframe
- Install bolt and nut securing RH front lower compression link to front subframeNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 1x nut, 21 mm, 115 N.m, Recommend assistance if necessary
- Torque bolts securing RH front lower lateral link to front subframeNOTE: 2x bolts, 21 mm, 115 N.m, Recommend assistance if necessary, Use punch tool to align the fasteners
- Install LH front lower lateral link and loosely install bolt and nut securing LH strut to lower lateral linkNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 1x nut, 21 mm, 106 N.m
- Loosely install bolts securing LH front lower lateral link to front subframeNOTE: 2x bolts, 21 mm, 115 N.m, Recommend assistance if necessary, Use punch tool to align the fasteners
- Install LH front lower compression link to front subframe
- Install bolt and nut securing LH front lower compression link to front subframeNOTE: 1x bolt, 21 mm, 1x nut, 21 mm, 115 N.m, Recommend assistance if necessary
- Torque bolts securing LH front lower lateral link to front subframeNOTE: 2x bolts, 21 mm, 115 N.m
- Position the RH front stabilizer bar link assembly to front stabilizer barNOTE: May be necessary to pull down on the sway bar to allow the end link to engage

- Apply Loctite 222 onto front aero shield bolts and install outer fasteners to front aero shieldNOTE: 7x bolts, 10 mm, 5 N.m
- Lower vehicle partially and set onto locksNOTE: Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height
- Position RH front tie rod end to RH front knuckle
- Install nut securing RH front tie rod end to RH front knuckleNOTE: 1x nyloc nut, 22 mm, 180 N.m, Install new nyloc nut
- Position LH tie rod end to LH front knuckle
- Install nut securing LH front tie rod end to LH front knuckleNOTE: 1x nyloc nut, 22 mm, 180 N.m, Install new nyloc nut
- Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front brake rotor to the hub.
- Install the hub jack adapter onto the LH front hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
- Use an underhoist stand to support the hub jack adapter.
- Measure the distance between the bottom of the fender and the center of the front axle and adjust the underhoist stand so that the front suspension is set to ride height.
- Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH front damper to the lower control arm, and then mark the bolt and nut with a paint pen.
106 N.m (78.2 ft-lbs)
- Remove the underhoist stand from underneath the LH front suspension.
- Remove the lug nuts that attach the hub jack adapter, and then remove the hub jack adapter from the vehicle.
- Install the bolt that attaches the LH front brake rotor to the hub.
5 N.m (3.7 ft-lbs)
- Repeat step 130 through 137 for the RH side of the vehicle.
- Install RH front wheelNOTE: 5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 N.m, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool
- Install LH front wheelNOTE: 5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 N.m, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool
- Lower vehicle until tires are touching the groundNOTE: Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
- Torque RH front wheelNOTE: 5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 N.m
- Torque LH front wheelNOTE: 5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 N.m
- Install RH front wheel capNOTE: 1x cap, Align valve stem with wheel cap cavity
- Install LH front wheel capNOTE: 1x cap, Align valve stem with wheel cap cavity
- Connect the steering gear assembly connectorsNOTE: 2x locking connectors, Engage locking tab
- Connect logic connectors to steering gear assemblyNOTE: 2x connectors, Engage locking tab
- Slide the intermediate shaft assembly downward to install it to the steering gear assemblyNOTE: Ensure the intermediate shaft is aligned and fully seated, Recommend assistance if necessary to align the shaft to steering gear
- Install bolt securing the intermediate shaft assembly to the steering gear assemblyNOTE: 1x bolt, 13 mm, 18 N.m
- Connect first responder loop and 12 V negative terminalNOTE: 1x nut, 10 mm, 6 N.m, 1x connector, Connect FRL first before connecting 12 V to avoid damage to car computer
- Install frunk assembly into vehicleNOTE: 6x clips, Replace any clips if broken or missing
- Install fasteners securing the frunk assemblyNOTE: 5x bolts, 10 mm, 5 N.m, Newer vehicles may be equipped with 1x push clip securing frunk to washer bottle neck
- Install access panelNOTE: 3x clips, 1x connector
- Install rear apronNOTE: 14x clips, Hold rear wall of frunk to keep from flexing while engaging front clips
- Close hood
- Remove vehicle from liftNOTE: Lower rack arms fully and remove from under vehicle if necessary, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode" if equipped
- Remove the steering wheel holder
- Raise LH front window
- Close LH front door
- Check tire pressuresNOTE: 4x tires, Set to specification if necessary, Refer to the "Tire and Loading Information" label located on the driver side B-pillar
- Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension .
