Adaptive Air Spring Module - Front - LH - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Support the vehicle on a 2-post lift, but do not raise it at this stage. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift .
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the window.
  3. Enable Jack Mode. See Jack Mode Activation .
  4. Depressurize the front LH air spring module. See AIR SUSPENSION - PRESSURIZE/DEPRESSURIZE - ONE AIR SPRING .
  5. Remove the rear center underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove And Replace) .
  6. Disconnect the LH HEPA duct drain hose from the HEPA intake duct.
  7. Remove the LH front wheel.
  8. Remove the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  9. Release the LH damper harness connectors (x2) from the LH front air spring module.

  10. Release the LH adaptive air spring module harness from the bracket.

  11. Release the tabs (x2) that attach the LH damper harness bracket to the LH front air spring module.

  12. Remove the bolt (torque 6 N.m) that attaches the flexible brake hose bracket to the LH air spring module.
  13. Remove the nut and bolt (torque 140 N.m) that attach the LH front air spring module to the LH front lower aft link assembly.

  14. Remove the nut (torque 60 N.m) that attaches the upper control arm ball joint to the knuckle, and then disconnect the LH knuckle from the upper control arm.
    NOTE: Compress the upper control arm ball joint to the knuckle, and then remove the bolt. Support the knuckle while the ball joint is released.

  15. Lower the vehicle to a comfortable working height.
  16. Release the nut that (2 N.m) attaches the air line fitting to the LH air spring module.
    NOTE: Once air leak can be heard, stop turning until all air is released.

  17. For each released end of an air suspension line, use a flat blade screwdriver to snap off the old collet, and discard the collet and nut (VOSS fitting).

  18. Remove the nuts (torque 39 N.m) that attach the front LH air spring module to the shock tower.

  19. Carefully remove the air spring module from the vehicle.
