Sensor - Impact - Front - LH - Remove And Replace: Removal

This procedure is for vehicles produced before February 26, 2019. For vehicles produced on or after February 26, 2019, see SENSOR - IMPACT ACCELEROMETER - FRONT BUMPER - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .

1. Remove the HEPA filter outlet duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Outlet (Remove and Replace) .
2. Disconnect 12V power and the first responder loop. See Disconnect 12V Power .
3. Remove the underhood storage unit:
   • Rear wheel drive (RWD): Underhood Storage Unit (Remove And Install) .
   • Dual Motor:  refer to Underhood Storage Unit (Remove And Install)
4. Disconnect the front impact sensor connector.

5. Loosen the screw that secures the impact sensor to the front carrier (torque 6 N.m).
   CAUTION: The screw is left-hand threaded/reverse threaded. However, when the screw is being loosened from the tip (as opposed to the head), it functions the same as a normal screw.

6. Remove the front impact sensor.
