Air Spring Module - Front - LH - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 4 Post Lift .
    WARNING: Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle.
  2. Depressurize the air spring. See AIR SUSPENSION - PRESSURIZE/DEPRESSURIZE - ONE AIR SPRING .
  3. Remove the front road wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install) .
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the air spring module top mount (torque 39 N.m).

  7. Raise the vehicle.
  8. Note the orientation of the clip that attaches the brake hose to the air spring module. Release the clip.
  9. Remove the nut and bolt that attach the air spring module to the lower arm (torque 140 N.m).
    CAUTION: Take care not to damage component(s).
    CAUTION: Replace all nylon-insert locknuts.
    NOTE: The following image shows a rear wheel drive (RWD) air spring module. The air spring module in a dual motor (DM) vehicle looks different.

  10. Carefully compress the air spring module and release it from the lower arm.

  11. Release the air pressure line from the chassis rail clip.
  12. Maneuver the air spring module to access the air pressure line.
    CAUTION: Thoroughly clean the air pressure line ports prior to disconnection. Failure to maintain cleanliness will adversely affect system performance.
  13. Undo the collar and remove the air pressure line (torque 5 N.m).
    CAUTION: Plug pipe connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.

  14. Remove the air spring module.
    CAUTION: Ensure that you do not damage the halfshaft if removing an air spring module from a Dual Motor vehicle.
