Android Auto Cannot Be Connected (Wired Connection)
Probable cause:
Smartphone malfunction, unit body malfunction
- CHECK INSERTION CONDITION OF USB CABLE
.
Check that the USB cable is securely inserted. (Looseness, partial connection, etc.)
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 2.
No : Securely insert the USB cable.
- CHECK USB CABLE
.
Visually check the USB cable for damage.
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 3.
No : The USB cable is faulty.
- CHECK ANDROID DEVICE
.
Restart the Android device, and connect it again.
Does it start properly?
Yes : Currently no failure is found.
No : Go to 4.
- CHECK ANDROID DEVICE
.
Delete the Android Auto registration information on both the Android device and the center information display, register Android again, and then connect it again.
Does it start properly?
Yes : Currently no failure is found.
No : Go to 6.
- CHECK USB CABLE
.
Change the USB cable connecting the Android device and the AUX unit with a different genuine cable and connect again.
Does it start properly?
Yes : It is possible that the USB cable which could not be connected is faulty.
No : Go to 6.
- CHECK ANDROID DEVICE
.
Connect another Android device.
Does it start properly?
Yes : Android device which cannot be connected might be faulty.
No : Go to 7.
- CHECK ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION
.
Check if any external devices which emit strong electromagnetic waves and noises, such as a radio antenna, is installed inside the vehicle.
Check that no such device is installed. Is the result OK?
Yes : Go to 8.
No : Remove the external device and perform the inspection from step 3 again. Go to 3.
- CHECK CONNECTOR AND HARNESS
.
- Check for poor connection in the connector of the cockpit control module body and the AUX unit connector.
- Check the harness between the cockpit control module body and the AUX unit (for open or short circuit).
- If the check result is OK, go to 9.
- If the connector of the cockpit control module body is defective, replace the cockpit control module body. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .
- If the connector of the AUX unit body is defective, replace the AUX unit body.
- If the harness or the harness connector is defective, repair or replace the harness.
- CHECK THE AUX UNIT

Replace the AUX unit and connect.
Does it start properly?
Yes : It is possible that the AUX unit is defective.
No : Replace the cockpit control module body. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .
