DTC P0441: EVAP System (CPC) Incorrect Purge Flow: Notes
DTC detecting condition:
Detected when two consecutive driving cycles with fault occur.
Trouble symptom:
Improper idling
- CHECK DTC
.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor or a general scan tool, read the DTC of [Engine]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
When a DTC other than P0441 (current code) is displayed, go to A.
When DTC P2404 (current code) is displayed in addition to P0441 (current code), go to B.
When a DTC other than the above is displayed, go to C.
- Go to 2
- Check for DTC P2404. Ref. to DTC P2404: EVAP SYSTEM LEAK DETECTION PUMP SENSE CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE .
- Check the appropriate DTC using the "Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)". Ref. to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
- CHECK PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE

Select [CPC Solenoid Valve] in [Active Test] to operate the purge control solenoid valve using the Subaru Select Monitor.
NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to the "Active Test". Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DO)>ACTIVE TEST .Does the purge control solenoid valve operate?
Yes: Go to 3.
No: Replace the purge control solenoid valve. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO)>PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE .
- CHECK EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM LINE

- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Check the evaporative emission control system line. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSPECTION .
Are there holes, cracks, clogging, or disconnection, misconnection of hoses or pipes in evaporative emission control system?
Yes: Repair or replace the hoses or pipes.
No: Repair the poor contact of ECM connector.
