Inspection steps

CAUTION: When the skid control ECM (brake actuator ASSY) has been replaced, make sure to perform [VSC(VDC) Centering Mode]. (Refer to WORK SUPPORT )

Diagnostic code output check (CAN communication system)

Check CAN communication system. (Refer to HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT )

RESULT DESCRIPTION

Output exists	B

Go to next step
Go to "CAN communication system (How to troubleshoot)" (Refer to HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT )

Inspection of skid control ECM connector connection
1. Check if the skid control ECM connector is properly connected.
  Criteria: The connector is properly connected.
  
  OK: Go to next step
  
  NG: Properly connect the connector to the ECM.
Check the battery.
1. Check the battery voltage.
  Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V
  
  OK: Go to next step
  
  NG: Check or replace charging system components or battery (Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )

Data monitor inspection (TRC/VSC OFF mode)

Connect the SSM4 to the DLC3.
Start the engine.

Using SSM4, check [Data monitor] of [TRC/VSC OFF Mode]. (Refer to DATA MONITOR )

Using SSM4, make sure that the state of the switch displayed in SSM4 changes depending on the vehicle stability control OFF switch operation.
Criteria: The display of the SSM4 changes depending on the operation of the vehicle stability control OFF switch.

OK: Go to next step

NG: Go to Step 6.

Combination meter ASSY check
1. Using SSM4, display [Active Test] of the combination meter ASSY (meter CPU). (Refer to DATA MONITOR/ACTIVE TEST )
2. Check the combination meter ASSY.
  Criteria: Vehicle stability control OFF indicator light is turned ON or OFF depending on the SSM4 operation.
  
  NOTE: If this information is referred while performing troubleshooting described in the symptom table, go back to the table and go to the next step before replacing parts. (Refer to SYMPTOM TABLE )
  
  OK: Go to next step
  
  NG: Replacement of combination meter ASSY (Refer to REMOVAL )
  
  Replacement of brake actuator ASSY (Refer to REMOVAL )
Vehicle stability control OFF switch check
1. Check the Vehicle stability control OFF switch. (Refer to INSTALLATION )
  OK: Go to next step
  
  NG: Replacement of Vehicle stability control OFF switch (Refer to VSC (VDC) OFF SWITCH )

Harness and connector check (skid control ECM - Vehicle stability control OFF switch)

Disconnect the skid control ECM connector.

Measure the resistance according to the following table.

Normal resistance

Tester connection	Condition	Specific condition
A5-12 (CSW) - D35-5	Always	1 Ω or less
A5-12(CSW) - chassis ground	Always	10 kΩ or more
D35-8 - chassis ground	Always	1 Ω or less

NG: Repair or replacement of wiring harness or connector
