Timer Charging Setting Switch System

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Refer to PLUG-IN BATTERY CHARGER (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .

CHECK DATA MONITOR (Timer Charging Switch Status).
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, display the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Plug-in Battery Charger]. Refer to PLUG-IN BATTERY CHARGER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
- Timer Charging Switch Status
Does the display change according to operation of the Timer charging setting switch?

Yes: Refer to Diagnostics with Phenomenon. Refer to PLUG-IN BATTERY CHARGER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>LIST .

No: Go to 2.
CHECK THE Timer charging setting switch UNIT.
1. Remove the Timer charging setting switch. Refer to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SWITCHES AND HARNESS .
2. Using a tester, measure the resistance between Timer charging setting switch terminals.

  (i372) No. 1 - (i372) No. 4:
Is the resistance as shown below?

When Timer charging setting switch is pressed: Less than 50 Ω

When Timer charging setting switch is not operated: 10 kΩ or more

Yes: Go to 3.

No: Replace Timer charging setting switch. Refer to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SWITCHES AND HARNESS .
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTORS (Electric vehicle charger assembly -Timer charging setting switch) (OPEN CIRCUIT).
CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
1. Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Refer to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
2. Disconnect Electric vehicle charger assembly connector (HV31).
3. Using a tester, measure the resistance between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and Timer charging setting switch connector.

  (HV31) No. 9 - (i372) No. 1:
Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

Yes: Go to 4.

No: Repair or replace the harness between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and Timer charging setting switch connector.
CHECK THE HARNESS AND CONNECTORS (Timer charging setting switch - CHASSIS GROUND) (OPEN CIRCUIT).
Using a tester, measure the resistance between Timer charging setting switch connector and chassis ground.

Connector & terminal

(i372) No. 4 - Chassis ground:

Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

Yes: Replace Electric vehicle charger assembly. Refer to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER .

No: Repair or replace the harness between the Timer charging setting switch connector and chassis ground.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Circuit explanation

Based on the signals from the Timer charging setting switch, the Electric vehicle charger assembly transitions to charging timer setting mode for setting timer charging reservations.
