Link Protector (CROSSTREK Model)

Before installation, inspect the following items and replace any faulty part with a new one.
- Visually check the rear lateral link assembly - front for damage and deformation.
- Visually check the bushing for abnormal cracks, fatigue or damage.
- Visually check the dust cover on the ball joint for abnormal cracks, fatigue or damage.

Install the link protector.

CAUTION:

Use a new link protector and a new band.
When installing the link protector, pay close attention to the identification marks and shapes of the link protector on the RH and LH sides.
Check that there is no dirt or oil on the rear lateral link assembly - front. If any dirt or oil is found, clean it.
When installing the link protector, be careful not to damage the adjacent parts.
After installing the link protector, make sure that the rubber is firmly fitted.

Temporarily install the band.

Preparation items:

Part No.: Band (20694FL000)

CAUTION:

When installing temporarily, be careful not to damage the adjacent parts.
The parts cannot be removed after the band is installed on the head part, so be sure to wind the band while being careful that the head part faces outside.

Tighten the band using the ST.

Preparation tool:

ST: BAND TIGHTENING TOOL (925091000)

NOTE: Tighten until the link protector does not move by hand.

Cut off the excess part of band.

CAUTION: When cutting off, be careful not to damage the adjacent parts.

Install the cable assembly - parking brake.
Tightening torque:

18 N.m (1.8kgf-m, 13.3ft-lb)
Install the rear wheels and lower the vehicle.
Tightening torque:

120 N.m (12.2kgf-m, 88.5ft-lb)
