Inspection steps

CAUTION: When the skid control ECM (brake actuator assembly) has been replaced, make sure to perform [VDC sensor midpoint setting mode]. (Refer to WORK SUPPORT  )
  1. Diagnostic code output check (CAN communication system)
    1. Check CAN communication system. (Refer to HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT )

      Result

      Result Go to
      No output A
      Output exists B

B: To CAN communication system (How to troubleshoot) (Refer to HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT )

      A: Go to next step

  2. Inspection of skid control ECM connector connection
    1. Check if the skid control ECM connector is properly connected.

Criteria: The connector is properly connected.

NG: Properly connect the connector to the ECM.

      OK: Go to next step

  3. Check the battery.
    1. Check the battery voltage.

      Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V

NG: Repair or replace charging system components or battery (Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )

      OK: Go to next step

  4. Check the Current Data Display (VSC SPORT mode)
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Using SSM3, check [Current Data Display] of [VSC SPORT MODE]. (Refer to CURRENT DATA DISPLAY & SAVE  )

      SSM3 screen: [ABS/VDC System]→[Current Data Display & Save]

Tester display Measured item/Range Normal condition Notes for diagnosis
VSC SPORT mode Vehicle stability control SPORT mode/Normal or Sports Normal: Normal mode
Sports: Vehicle stability control SPORT mode
      -
    4. Using SSM3, make sure that the state of the switch displayed in SSM3 changes depending on the Vehicle stability control SPORT switch operation.

Criteria: The display of the SSM3 changes depending on the operation of Vehicle stability control SPORT switch.

      NG: Go to Step  6.

      OK: Go to next step

  5. Combination meter assembly check
    1. Using SSM3, display [System Operation Check Mode] of the combination meter assembly (meter CPU). (Refer to CURRENT DATA DISPLAY & SAVE/SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK MODE )
    2. Check the combination meter assembly.

Criteria: Vehicle stability control SPORT indicator light is turned ON or OFF depending on the SSM3 operation.

NOTE: If this page is referenced while performing troubleshooting described in the symptom table, go back to the table and go to the next step before replacing parts. (Refer to SYMPTOM TABLE  )

NG: Replacement of combination meter assembly (Refer to COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY )

OK: Replacement of brake actuator assembly (Refer to REMOVAL  )

  6. Vehicle stability control SPORT switch check
    1. Check the Vehicle stability control SPORT switch. (Refer to INSTALLATION  )

NG: Replacement of Vehicle stability control SPORT switch (Refer to VSC (VDC) OFF SWITCH  )

      OK: Go to next step

  7. Harness and connector check (skid control ECM - Vehicle stability control SPORT switch)
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the following table.

      Normal resistance
