SERVICE INFORMATION

Now that the new 2013 Legacy & Outback models equipped with the EyeSight system are being delivered to your dealerships, as Technicians, it is important to understand precautions which need to be taken when working with these vehicles. It would also be a good idea to pass this information along to your Sales staff and your customers to reinforce the information already available in the Owner's Manual.

To avoid unexpected activation of EyeSight's Pre-Collision Braking System it must be turned OFF in the following situations:

These situations are directed more toward customers:

IMPORTANT: Remind your customers to turn EyeSight "OFF" when going through an automatic car wash to eliminate any chance of it activating unexpectedly.  If the system is left "on" with the engine running, EyeSight may interpret the rotating brushes as an obstacle and activate the Pre-Collision Braking feature of the system.
