SERVICE INFORMATION
If you experience a concern of the center vents closing during the following HVAC operation conditions:
- Air Direction in the Upper Position
- Blower on one of the two highest speeds
Check to see if the left and/or right side outer dash vents are closed. If so, advise the customer that with the outer vents closed, the center vents can become overwhelmed by the volume of air flow and inadvertently close. In addition, their vehicle will cool down or heat up faster with the outer vents in the open position. The center vents closing when the HVAC system is being operated in this manner has been determined to be an operational characteristic so, no repairs are required.
