Drive Belt Adjustment

BELT ADJUSTMENT

Application (1) Deflection - In. (mm)
New Belt
A/C .30-.34 (7.5-8.5)
Alternator & P/S .28-.35 (7.0-9.0)
Reused Belt
A/C .35-.39 (9.0-10.0)
Alternator & P/S .35-.43 (9.0-11.0)
(1) For Outback 3.0L, replace if automatic tensioner indicator is not within service limit range. See Fig 1.
