Check Transmitter Battery & Function

  1. Remove battery from transmitter. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between positive and negative battery terminals. If voltage is more than 2 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 2 volts, replace transmitter battery. See KEYLESS TRANSMITTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Press LOCK/ARM or UNLOCK/DISARM button 6 times to synchronize with keyless entry control module. Press LOCK/ARM button. If the Light Emitting Diode (LED) blinks one time, go to next step. If LED does not blink one time, replace transmitter. See KEYLESS TRANSMITTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Press and hold LOCK/ARM button. If LED blinks one time, then turns on, go to next step. If LED does not blink one time, then turn on, replace transmitter. See KEYLESS TRANSMITTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Press UNLOCK/DISARM button. If LED blinks one time, go to next step. If LED does not blink one time, replace transmitter. See KEYLESS TRANSMITTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  5. Press and hold UNLOCK/DISARM button. If LED blinks two times, transmitter is okay. If LED does not blink two times, replace transmitter. See KEYLESS TRANSMITTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
