Check Door Switch
- Ensure ignition is off. Measure voltage between security control module terminal No. 5 (front and rear door) and ground. See Figure . Measure voltage between security control module terminal No. 4 (rear gate or trunk lid) and ground. If voltage is 0 volt when each door, rear gate and trunk lid is opened, go to next step. If voltage is not 0 volt when each door, rear gate and trunk lid is opened, go to step 3 .
- Measure voltage between security control module terminal No. 5 (front and rear door) and ground. Measure voltage between keyless entry control module terminal No. 4 (rear gate or trunk lid) and ground. If voltage is 0 volt when each door, rear gate and trunk lid is closed, door switch is operating properly. If voltage is not 0 volt when each door, rear gate and trunk lid is closed, go to next step.
- Disconnect door switch harness connector. Check for continuity between harness connector terminals. See CONTINUITY CHECK ON DOOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS
table. If continuity exists when door switch is pushed, replace door switch. If continuity does not exist when door switch is pushed, go to next step.CONTINUITY CHECK ON DOOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS
Application Terminals No. Left Front Door 1 & 3 Right Front Door 1 & 3 Left Rear Door 1 & 3 Right Rear Door 1 & 3 Rear Gate 1 & 2 Trunk Lid 1 & 2 - Check for continuity between harness connector terminals. See CONTINUITY CHECK ON DOOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS table. If continuity exists when door switch is released, check harness for open circuits and shorts between keyless entry control module and door switch. If continuity does not exist when door switch is released, replace door switch.
