Radiator Cooling Fan Does Not Operate

If main (radiator) cooling fan does not operate, check fuse No. 20 (20-amp) in engine compartment fuse box, and fuse No. 18 (15-amp) in dashboard fuse box. If fuse is blown, repair short circuit and replace fuse. If fuses are okay, go to next step.
Test main fan relay, located in fuse and relay box, in left side of engine compartment. See RELAYS under COMPONENT TESTS. If main fan relay is okay, go to next step. If main fan relay is faulty, replace relay.
Check voltage at terminal No. 2 (White/Blue wire) of fan motor harness connector. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, check if terminal No. 1 (Black wire) of fan motor harness connector is grounded. If Black wire is grounded, replace fan motor. If Black wire is not grounded, repair open in Black wire between main fan motor and ground on each side of radiator support.
Check voltage at (bus bar) terminal No. 25 (White/Blue wire) of main fan relay. If voltage does not exist, go to next step. If voltage exists, repair short to power in White/Blue wire between main fan relay and main fan motor.
Check voltage at (bus bar) terminal No. 28 (Green/Black wire) of main fan relay. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Green/Black wire between (bus bar) terminal No. 28 and fuse No. 18 (15-amp).
Check voltage at terminal No. 27 (Red/Blue wire) of main fan relay. If battery voltage exists, replace ECM. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Red/Blue wire between terminal A3 at ECM and main fan relay.
