DTC P0507 (ISC_RHI): Idle Control System Rpm Higher Than Expected

  1. Connect SSM. Retrieve DTC(s). If DTC P0505 exists, diagnose DTC P0505  only. If DTC P0505 does not exist, go to next step.
  2. Start and allow engine to idle. Check intake manifold, idle air control (IAC) solenoid and throttle body for loose installation and gasket for cracks, by-pass hose for loose connection or cracking and vacuum hoses for disconnection or cracking. Repair as necessary.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IAC valve connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between IAC connector terminal No. 2 and chassis ground. If voltage reading is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage reading is less than 10 volts, repair open in wiring between IAC connector and ECM connector.
  4. Turn ignition off. Check resistance between IAC connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, check IAC connector and IAC system. Repair as needed. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open circuit between IAC connector and ground.
