COMPLAINT
Customer complains that indicator lamp for tire pressure monitor has lit up.
The tire inflation pressure is OK.
CAUSE
The tire pressure indicator lamp lights up when the tire pressure drops below (>20%) the specified tire minimum pressure.
If the driver has pressed the Reset button without checking the tire pressure, the event 551B (implausible at specified minimum pressure) is stored.
The DAS unit erroneously displays event 551B as a stored fault.
When the tire pressure has been corrected and the Reset button has been pressed, the indicator lamp goes out, but the event is still stored in the control unit.
REMEDY
Ignore fault memory entry
Cancelation of fault memory output 551B in DAS is planned for mid-2009.
Details are to be added to the function description.
