Valve Body Assembly: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Coat a new transaxle case 2nd brake gasket and transaxle case gasket with Toyota Genuine ATF WS or equivalent and install them into the transaxle case.
    2. Install the check ball body spring and check ball body.
    3. Align the groove of the manual valve with the pin of the manual valve lever.
    4. Provisionally install the transmission valve body assembly with the 13 bolts.

      *a Bolt length : 32 mm (1.26 in.)
      *b Bolt length : 22 mm (0.87 in.)
      *c Bolt length : 55 mm (2.17 in.)
      *d Bolt length : 45 mm (1.77 in.)
    5. Provisionally install the manual detent spring and manual detent spring cover with the 2 bolts.

      *1 Manual Detent Spring Cover
      *2 Manual Detent Spring
      *a Bolt length : 14 mm (0.55 in.)
      *b Bolt length : 45 mm (1.77 in.)
    6. Check that the manual valve lever is in contact with the center of the roller at the tip of the detent spring.
    7. Tighten the 15 bolts.

      Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf) 

    8. Connect the 5 shift solenoid valve connectors.
    9. Install the ATF temperature sensor with the lock plate and bolt.

      Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf) 

      Bolt length

      55 mm (2.17 in.)

  2. INSTALL VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Coat a new oil strainer gasket with Toyota Genuine ATF WS or equivalent, and install it into the valve body oil strainer assembly.
    2. Install the valve body oil strainer assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 oil cleaner magnets onto the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly, as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Oil Cleaner Magnet
    2. Install the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly and a new oil pan gasket with the 19 bolts.

      Torque: 7.8 N*m ( 80 kgf*cm, 69 ft.*lbf) 

  4. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 
  5. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL  . See step  1
  6. INSPECT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID LEAK 
  7. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 

    Torque: 5.0 N*m ( 51 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf)
