Installation Procedure

CAUTION: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.

  1. Install the battery to the vehicle.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the battery hold down nuts (1) and the battery hold down retainer bracket (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the positive battery cable terminal nut (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 5 N.m (45 lb in).

  4. Install the ECM bracket, bolts (2) and nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts and bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With LAT)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without LAT) .
  6. Install the generator battery control module cover. Refer to Generator Control Module Cover Replacement .
