Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Saturn Ion Red Line. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If applicable, install the intake manifold gasket.
  2. Install the intake manifold.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the intake manifold nuts and bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the intake manifold nuts and bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the oil level indicator tube and bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the oil level indicator tube bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  7. Reposition the AC compressor and install the bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  8. Install the cooling fan assembly. Refer toFan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  9. Install the charged air coolant pump. Refer toCoolant Pump Replacement - Charge Air Cooler in Engine Cooling.
  10. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LSJ) or Generator Replacement (L61) in Engine Electrical.
  11. Connect the charged air cooling system inlet and outlet hoses.
  12. Fill the charged air cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System - Charge Air Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
  13. Install the supercharger. Refer to Supercharger Replacement .
