Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Saturn Ion Red Line, 2004 Saturn Ion 3, 2004 Saturn Ion 2, and 2004 Saturn Ion 1. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With the bearing hub still in position, install the NEW stud into the bearing/hub assembly.
  2. Add enough washers (1) in order to draw the stud into the hub.
  3. Install the wheel nut (2) with the flat side against the washers.

  5. Tighten the wheel nut until the head of the wheel stud is fully seated against the back of the bearing hub flange.
  6. Remove the wheel nut and the washers.
  7. Install the brake rotor, and install the brake caliper and bracket as an assembly. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Front in Disc Brakes.
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
