Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector C1 at the appropriate PSDM.
  2. Ignition ON, test for 9.6-13.6 volts on B+ circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the PSD fuse is open, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the appropriate PSDM.
    • If the circuit tests normal and the system voltage is less than or greater than the specified range, refer to Charging System Test .
  3. Ignition ON, test for 9.6-13.6 volts on B+ circuit terminal 14 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the PSD fuse is open, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the appropriate PSDM.
    • If the circuit tests normal and the system voltage is less than or greater than the specified range, refer to Charging System Test .
