Circuit/System Testing
- Inspect the appropriate door contact plate. Verify the following conditions exist:
- Clean electrical contact between the door plungers and the B-pillar pad
- Proper alignment of the door plungers to the B-pillar pad
- Proper door plunger operation
- If any of the above conditions are not met, repair or replace the appropriate door contact plate.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector C1 at the appropriate door contact plate.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the following terminals and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Connect the harness connector C1 at the appropriate door contact plate. Disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate sliding door detent switch.
- Ignition OFF, sliding door CLOSED, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit terminal B and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, sliding door CLOSED, verify the scan tool PSD Detent Switch parameter is Inactive.
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal A for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the appropriate PSD module.
- Sliding door CLOSED, install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal A and ground. Verify the scan tool PSD Detent Switch parameter is Active.
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the appropriate PSD module.
- Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the sliding door detent switch. Disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate sliding door unlatch actuator.
- Ignition OFF, sliding door CLOSED, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit terminal A and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, sliding door CLOSED, command the sliding door unlatch actuator ON using the scan tool PSD Latch Test. The sliding door unlatch actuator should activate.
- If the actuator does not actuate, test the signal circuit terminal B for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the appropriate sliding door unlatch actuator.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate sliding door detent switch.
