3: This step tests the pump motor circuits of the BPMV for a short to the housing of the BPMV.

2	Disconnect the EBCM harness connector. Test both ground circuits of the EBCM including the EBCM ground for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Test the Battery Positive Voltage circuits for an open, high resistance, or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	-	Go to Step 8	Go to Step 3
3	Remove the EBCM from the BPMV to gain access to the pump motor circuits. Measure the resistance between each pump motor control circuit and the housing of the BPMV. Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?	5 Ω	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 5
4	Inspect for poor connections at the pump motor connector of the BPMV. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	-	Go to Step 8	Go to Step 6
