Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the latch release rod. Refer to Door Handle Rod Adjustment - Front Outside .
  2. Remove the outer door panel. Refer to Outer Door Panel Replacement Front - Bolt On  or to Outer Door Panel Replacement Rear - Bolt On (Sedan)  or Outer Door Panel Replacement Rear - Bolt On (Coupe) .
  3. Remove the bracket from the door structure. Use a center punch to knock out the steel center of the rivet.
  4. Use a 7 mm (1/4 in) diameter drill bit to drill out the rivet.
  5. Slide the pivot bracket, with the latch release rod, down and out. Remove the pivot bracket from the door.
