Control Cable: Removal

  1. Disable Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. See AIR BAG DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION. Remove console. See CONSOLE  .
  2. Using a screwdriver, disconnect control cable from control assembly. Remove control cable retaining clip. Depress tabs on control cable and remove cable from control assembly. See Fig 1 .
  3. Disconnect control cable from transaxle range switch lever. Remove control cable retaining clip. See Fig 2 .
  4. Depress 2 tabs on control cable and remove cable from control cable bracket. Remove control cable grommet from dash panel. See Fig 3 . Remove control cable from control cable bracket.
