Circuit Description
Cruise control switch provides request signals to PCM by varying battery voltage. If a circuit that relays a request signal to PCM is open or grounded, PCM will read this as an off signal and DTC will not set. DTC P0565 will set only when cruise control input signal voltage is out of range. DTC P0565 will set when cruise control main switch is on, request signal voltage is less than .54 volts or more than .87 volts. DTC P0565 will set when cruise control main switch is on and RES/ACCEL switch is depressed, request signal voltage is less than 1.20 volts or more than 1.98 volts. DTC P0565 will also set when cruise control main switch is on and SET/COAST switch is depressed, input signal voltage is less than 2.70 volts or more than 4.30 volts. DTC P0565 will not illuminate Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL).
