Temperature Control Cable

  1. Remove radio to gain access to rear of A/C-heater control panel (HVAC control head). Ensure A/C-heater control panel, is installed properly and wiring harness does not interfere with temperature control lever operation. At heater case, ensure temperature control White cable end is properly connected to temperature door linkage. Ensure cable housing is properly engaged in hold-down clip.
  2. At A/C-heater control panel, ensure temperature control White cable housing is properly installed and locked into channel. Ensure cable end is connected to pin on temperature control lever. Check cable operation for binding or backlash.
  3. Cable length is adjusted by holding cable housing and turning cable housing end at A/C-heater control panel end. Move temperature control lever to full cold and full hot positions. If temperature control lever bounces back on hot (right) side, lengthen cable housing. If temperature control lever bounces back on cold (left) side, shorten cable housing. Check cable operation for binding or backlash.
