Service Manual Update for the 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual.

MODELS AFFECTED

1996 Saturns.

PURPOSE

The second paragraph of the CAUTION on page ELTS 20 of the 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual incorrectly states that the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) only retains sufficient voltage to cause a deployment for up to 10 seconds. The sensing and diagnostic module (SDM), used in 1996 Saturns can retain sufficient voltage to cause a deployment from up to 10 minutes.

Please attach the enclosed SERVICE PRECAUTION sticker over the SERVICE PRECAUTIONS on page ELTS 20 of the 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual.

Also, the cover of the 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual was incorrectly printed without the word Revised under the year 96. Please attach the enclosed Revised sticker under 96 on the cover of the Electrical Service Manual.

IMPORTANT: The 1996 Revised Electrical Service Manual can be identified by the part number located on the lower back cover. The revised service manual has a number of S03 96011K10R0196.
