Diagnostic Aids
The RKE system testing can be accessed using scan tool by selecting SPECIAL TEST, OPTIONS and then RKE. If problem is intermittent, use scan tool to view status of the PCM diagnostic feedback. When vehicle is not moving, PCM diagnostic feedback should indicate a "Low".
Use scan tool to command the PCM switch to "High" (open). Wiggle wires and connectors while monitoring the PCM diagnostic feedback and watch if status changes from "Low" to "High". When diagnosing RKE system, ensure windows are rolled down to prevent being locked out of vehicle.
