Code P019, Shorted Fuel Pump Circuit: Action

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

PCM turns on MIL.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. With ignition on and engine off, fuel pump should not be running and fuel pump feedback (PCM parameter PD10) should be zero volts. If PD10 shows voltage greater than 7 volts, repair circuit No. 120.
  2. Checks for shorted oil pressure switch. A shorted oil pressure switch will cause Code P019 to set.
  3. Checks for shorted fuel pump relay.
  4. Checks for voltage on circuit No. 120 at PCM.
  5. Checks for proper control of fuel pump relay by PCM.
