Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B20 Brake Fluid Level Switch.
- Check that the resistance between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground is less than 5 Ω.
==> If resistance is greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open circuit/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Brake Fluid Level Sensor parameter is Low.
==> If the value is not as specified, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).
- Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- Verify the scan tool Brake Fluid Level Sensor parameter is OK.
==> If the value is not as specified, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open circuit/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the B20 Brake Fluid Level Switch.
