SUBJECT

CARS AFFECTED
Saab 9-5 with engine alternative D308L updated with new software for the engine management system.
BACKGROUND
Background
SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION
Poor functionality.
PROCEDURE
Before the new software is installed in model year 02 cars, first campaign 15413 and then campaign 15425 must have been carried out. (Note! Campaign 15413 does not include the water separator).
Campaign 15413 - the car's modification identity plate must be marked in box C3.
Campaign 15425 - the car's modification identity plate must be marked in box D5 (M02) and A5 (M03) respectively.
Before installation a check must be made of whether or not the car has a water separation system. The difference can be determined by the appearance of the air cleaner and air intake. A water separation system means that from M03.5 the car has an air cleaner with the new air cleaner intake.
When installing, the question of whether or not the car has a water separator will appear in Tech2, and the correct choice must be made.
- Software CS3MIKN4 must be used for cars without water separator.
- Software CS3MIKN3 must be used for cars with water separator.
Both software items are available in TIS2000, edition 2003-1, update 2.
