The desired gear position is selected with the gear selector (PRNDML). The movement of the gear selector lever is transmitted, via a cable, to the gear selector position sensor which is mounted on the transmission.

The selector lever position sensor is connected to the manual shifting valve in the valve housing, which is also actuated by the selector lever.
