DTC P0327: Knock Signal Input
NOTE:
DTC P0327 applies to 4-cylinder or V6 cylinder bank No. 1 (rear).
NOTE:
Knock sensor function is controlled through ignition discharge module by measuring spark plug resistance. No external knock sensor is used.
- Unplug ignition discharge module (IDM) connector. Turn ignition on. Use DVOM to measure voltage between IDM harness connector terminals No. 6 (Black wire) and 7 (Orange/White wire). See Figure. If voltage is between 4.9-5.1 volts, replace IDM. If voltage is not as specified, repair faulty circuit between IDM harness connector terminal No. 7 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 38 (Orange/White wire). See Figure, Figure or Figure for ECM location. See Figure for ECM terminal identification. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Go to next step.
- Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Drive vehicle for 5 minutes under varying loads and engine RPM. Recheck for any stored DTCs. If DTC is reset, substitute a known good ECM and retest system. See ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article.
