DTC P0327: Knock Signal Input

NOTE: DTC P0327 applies to 4-cylinder or V6 cylinder bank No. 1 (rear).
NOTE: Knock sensor function is controlled through ignition discharge module by measuring spark plug resistance. No external knock sensor is used.
  1. Unplug ignition discharge module (IDM) connector. Turn ignition on. Use DVOM to measure voltage between IDM harness connector terminals No. 6 (Black wire) and 7 (Orange/White wire). See Figure. If voltage is between 4.9-5.1 volts, replace IDM. If voltage is not as specified, repair faulty circuit between IDM harness connector terminal No. 7 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 38 (Orange/White wire). See Figure, Figure or Figure for ECM location. See Figure for ECM terminal identification. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Go to next step.
  2. Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Drive vehicle for 5 minutes under varying loads and engine RPM. Recheck for any stored DTCs. If DTC is reset, substitute a known good ECM and retest system. See ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article.
