Battery Disconnect Precautions & Relearn Procedures: Driveability

When ignition has been switched off, wait at least 5 minutes before cutting power to the car. This is so there is sufficient time for information to be stored in the ECM.

When battery has been disconnected, vehicle may have to be driven for a few minutes before the engine runs normally. Some engine related Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) may be set. Clear as necessary using scan tool.
