Speed Signal Check
- Ensure speedometer operates correctly. Repair as necessary. If speedometer operates correctly, raise and support front of vehicle. Start engine and engage transmission.
- Measure voltage between breakout box pins No. 5 and 10. Depress brake pedal to stop driven wheels, then release brake so wheels can rotate. Repeat this several times. Readings should be about zero or 12 volts for stationary wheels (depending on stop position of sensor) and 6 volts for rotating wheels.
- If no signal is present, measure resistance between breakout box pin No. 10 and 3-pin speedometer connector terminal No. 2 (White wire). If resistance is greater than one ohm, repair wiring. If resistance is less than one ohm, replace cruise control module.
