Programming Data Update On Central Computer

NOTE: Voltage drop
  • Irreparable damage to control unit 
  • Damage to control unit 
  • Fault entries in the control unit 
  • Control unit programming/coding is aborted 
  • Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming 

    → Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.

    → Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.

    → Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A  to the vehicle battery.

Information 

The procedure described here must only  be used if:

The programming code and the approved software part number can be found in the specified documents.

Damage to the control unit cannot be ruled out if the software is used by other vehicles.

The USB storage medium USB type A+C 32 GB with part number V04014999WW000  must be used for installation using an USB stick.

The instructions in the Tester  take precedence, since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in the Tester  .

For vehicles up to MY 2021 (MIB 2), continue with Step 1.

For vehicles from MY 2022 (MIB 3), continue with Step  2.

  1. Insert SD card containing the vehicle-specific data into the SD card slot on the center console.

  2. Insert USB stick containing the vehicle-specific data into the USB slot on the center console.

  3. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  4. Place original remote control (hand-held transmitter) in emergency start tray.

  5. Select the vehicle type if necessary.
  6. Select the PCM  control unit in the overview  . Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
  7. Select Maintenance/repairs  .
  8. Select Install software update  .
    1. 8.1 Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
    2. 8.2 Perform software update according to menu guidance.
  9. If fitted: Code the amplifier.
    1. 9.1 Select Amplifier  .
    2. 9.2 Select Coding/programming  .
    3. 9.3 Select Automatic coding  . Press F12 to continue.
  10. Read out the fault memory  , correct faults that are stored if necessary and clear the fault memory.
  11. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
  12. Remove SD card or USB stick from the vehicle.
